“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! (Mat 7:7-11 NIV)

Dear Friend,

Within the last one month or so, I have received three wonderful testimonies of brethren who have trusted the Lord for jobs and have met with varying degrees of success. I then felt led to write an encouragement to all of us who may also be seeking for our own miracles, jobs, healing and whatever else we would like the Lord to bless us with. Remember that His desire for us is to prosper us in everything that we believe Him for. The bible tells us that we can have what we need through Christ Jesus – and this does not mean material things only! To the weak He say; ‘thou art strong’. To the sick He says; ‘by my stripes thou art healed’, to the hopeless He says ‘Christ the hope of glory’, and to the needy He says;

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:19 NIV)

Beloved, there is a lot of difference between a want and a need. Wants are child-like desires where we crave for things that are not necessarily beneficial to us and when we miss them we throw a tantrum. But on the other hand needs are prerequisites for our very survival, they may not be the nice things we see, but are good for us. For example one can do without a car, but not without a home. One can do without taking tea or soda, but not without food entirely! So if the Lord thinks that you need a car, a car you shall receives according to His glorious riches! If He sees that a job is important to warrant you to receive, you shall get one!

Therefore let me ask you; what seekest thou? I believed God to be where I am and asked for sufficient grace to complete a year here in Darfur. It is a year and some days today, glory to God! In that one year I have seen several trials and pressure come my way, but in all God has been faithful and has blessed me all through. Currently I believe Him for better; to have opportunity to serve Him as well as be with my family since I have been away for most of my working life for months and spend only days or weeks at home. This is my seeking and I am confident that I will find what I seek in the Lord! And it is going to be a glorious find too! Why? Because the plans He has for me are good ones to give me a hope and a future! Hallelujah. You have the same favor too!

Look at Mary, she went to seek the Lord’s body in the grave but instead of a corpse she found the Lord alive! Sometimes we seek that which our senses indicate to be what we are able to handle or expect. However, the Word of God says;

(1 Cor 2:9 NIV) … “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”–

Brother/sister, do you love the Lord? Then get ready for a blessing that is mind boggling and way beyond your wildest dreams or imaginations! If you were to tell me years while serving as a soldier on a tiny salary that one day I was going to be a international staffer for an international agency working in Darfur, most probably I would have said yea, yea and dismissed yours as wishful thinking. The little I was earning then always dissipated into the many bills as soon as I got the pay and often had to live on borrowing! Without the Lord, and hence living outside the promises of God, I had no hope. But as soon as I accepted salvation in 1995 and started to receive the revelation of the Word of God, I have never remained the same. It has been from glory to glory! Look at these Word of promise;

So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Mat 6:31-33 NIV)

Yes we are to be lenders, not borrowers! When we seek the Kingdom first and embrace it with our all, what is in the kingdom becomes ours for the asking! Do you see it? The key to finding is seeking… let me ask again; what are you seeking?

Whatever it is you are trusting God for, may I sincerely say to you; believe it, receive it, and enjoy it! It is yours in Jesus name as a co-heir with Christ! Is it a job or a better one? Is it a house, a car or good health? Remember it may seem too lofty to attain, but then, is anything too hard for the Lord?

Our biggest problem as believers is often found in we ask and seek! The Lord states that we ask amiss. What this means is that we ask outside of His will and more often than not, for our own glorification! We need that posh car so as to look and feel acceptable in society, show off! We need that huge house to be seen as somebody in the community. That fat salary for; Me, I, and Myself!

Wrong attitudes… Whatever God blesses us with is supposed to glorify Him and be used to extend His Kingdom on earth. How many times are we tempted to with hold that large tithe now that we earn more, yet when we earned less, we used to tithe faithfully?

Somebody has been fasting and calling God to meet their petitions. Be assured God has heard you because He never passes His own. If the evil ones provide for there own children good things, the Lords asks, how much more will He provide for us who have knocked at His door and asked Him for bread?

God is not an ATM! And even if He is, there are rules! Number one of which, the card used must be current and programmed to be acceptable to the ATM. Otherwise it will be rejected. Secondly the holder must know the password, thirdly there must be sufficient funds to cover the transaction and finally the holder must actually be a client of the bank.

So what does this mean? For us to tap into the glorious treasures of heaven, we must belong to heaven! Our names must be written in the Lambs’ Book of Life. This will give us automatic right to receive that which we seek. We must operate by the rules of the kingdom of God! All rules are in the bible. Do we find time to read it?

Listen somebody; I am disappointed by a lot of jobseekers who desire to get jobs and yet they sit at home waiting for it to happen. Even if you had money in the bank which rightly belongs to you, it forces you to go to the bank and do some ‘asking’! Someone needs to be reminded about getting violent… remember the scripture that states that the kingdom of God suffers violence and it is the violent ones who take it by force?

That is right! You or someone you know may have been asking while seated waiting for work to come; well it is time to move! Some things call for a complete change of strategy. When the Israelites could not defeat their enemies, they employed ambush tactics! In the present world, more and more jobseekers are getting offloaded into the labor market from all manner of institutions. The only way to stay competitive is to make yourself relevant or your school certificates; diplomas and degrees might become stale!

A friend asked me if I could find him work where I am, and I gave him what I felt was good advice on how to apply online for the many openings that clearly suited his qualifications and experience which by the way is on very high demand. But from his response, it was apparent that he wanted something on a platter! Secondly, he had no clue that jobs now have gone cyber nor was he too keen on going to a cyber café as advised! How many of his kind are out there who fear technology? As a matter of fact all major NGO’s, Agencies and Organizations now rely mostly on their Websites to advertise for jobs and indeed have online forms for applicants! This means that we must adapt to the changing environment or we are left behind! As paradigms shift, let’s also move with the times. Remember my current job was among two that I got online! Job seeker, you too can!

Perhaps the hardest part for a man to do is to remain still while awaiting an outcome of an application or interview! I have been there and I know how it feels to wait. The bible reminds us that;

Then the LORD replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. (Hab 2:2-3 NIV)

For some your waiting time has just begun but others your waiting has reached the appointed time! Hallelujah! You have been on the quest for long and you have reached safe harbor. The Lord is sending your parcel express! Oh yes, the files that had been forgotten are being reopened again! A review shall be called again for that interview that you believed had been done away with! It happened to me once; you too are an heir of the blessings of Abraham! Receive what you have patiently waited for all this time in Jesus name!

You are blessed!

Prayer. Father in heaven, I pray to you in Jesus name asking that you bless the reader who has been on standby patiently awaiting your appointed time to receive a miracle from you. I declare it to be so in the Lords’ most powerful name-Jehovah-Jireh. Provide that job, provide that financial breakthrough. I also declare healing in your name Jehovah-rapha. Send your Word and heal whatever disease is afflicting the reader of this message Lord because You are able. May anyone who is seeking in your name find, may those asking receive and open to anyone who is knocking. Lord You are a good God and care for all those who love, trust and believe in you. Let no one be shamed no matter how long they have waited; appoint a season for them to rejoice and may that time be now. In Jesus name I pray. AMEN.
